Thursday was a ruff one with overwhelming blessings!
I was allowed to serve with co-workers for "Day of Serving" through United Way. Thursday is a workout day with EJ and I didn't want to miss out on those benefits, but had to be at work at 7am. So, I got to the gym at 5am to do the workout on my own. I missed everyone! Got to walk a little with everyone to cool down, while they warmed up.
Then I was off to serve after a buffet breakfast with bacon and egg casserole! Oh My! I brought my own breakfast, felt the eyes, but I survived!
Lunch was the challenge! I felt weak before lunch because I was too distracted to realise I maybe should have had a snack. Lunch was at Pizza Hut! THAT was ruff! Nutritionist Stephanie gave me permission to eat the salad bar...it wasn't that great of salad bar and I wanted to grab someone's plate and just shove it all in my mouth at once. BUT, I had a great friend there I work with who made sure I behaved! Stephanie's email kept running in my mind that I should focus on the company not the food...so I did! She's so smart!
I did it, survived! It was a true challenge! But I did it!
Paula so many great things in the post. First of all is seeing your commitment to the program and what it means when you miss a workout. You still worked things out though to get the work out in. I forgot about the breakfast they serve for Day of Caring, so glad you planned ahead and brought something. I hope you also realize as you were working you were burning calories. I'm so glad you knew where you were going for lunch and talking with Stephanie to plan out what to do. I'm glad she went the extra length and not only talked to you about the food but giving you something to concentrate on with your time so that the temptation wasn't as big. I am also glad to see you kept yourself accountable with a friend there. You had so many positives in your experience. I hope you see all those victories and let them encourage you with the truth that you can do this. Great job and keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I love that you planned ahead , on the workout and the packing your breakfast and emailing your nutritionist!
ReplyDeleteVery rarely will we ever succeed by accident!! But careful planning, communication with your BMSW2 staff, and following what they tell you, that is the path to success in this program!
I know it was hard! So that is an extra mental trophy, and something you can look back on when you are tempted in the coming weeks and months to push you on!
