Our
challenge this morning was to do 15 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on
the bike, and 15 minutes on the treadmill or on the stair climber.  I did the elliptical first and chose to do
the stair climber before I finished on the bike.  I was really excited to try the stair climber
and see if I could do it.  I started and
it waaaaas tough.  When I felt like I wouldn’t
make it, I looked down at my time and I had only been doing it for 2
minutes.  I knew I had to keep going to
make it to 15 minutes because I really did not want to give up and start over
on the treadmill.  I wasn’t sure if I would
make it to 15 minutes or if I was going to fizzle out.  It wasn’t pretty but I made it to 15 minutes!  I can’t help but think of all the times I
gave up in the past when I thought I couldn’t do something.  If I had gone to the gym myself and tried
that in the past I probably would have quit at 5 minutes.  I think it is so awesome that we get this
opportunity to be challenged and learn what we are really capable of because I
feel like most of this battle is going to be a mental battle.  It won't be always be easy but I think believing in myself is going
to be the first step in pushing myself further.

I think the challenge was good EJ gave because he required the 15 minutes on each machine. I remember the first time I did the stair master I only did 3 minutes and stopped because I didn't have the time requirement. I eventually got my time up on it and remember the day I got over 100 floors for the first time. You have started ahead of where I did on the machine. Great going. Now you need to start learning to do your own challenges to push yourself so after the program you can keep it up. What I did was each week I would set up a goal (how many floors) I would accomplish by the end of the week. Once you are accomplishing distant goals then start pushing yourself to meet those goals at a faster pace to push yourself even more. Keep going strong like you are.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great job pushing thru! My first 2 times on the stair master, I did 2 minutes. My next quite a few times was 5 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you already being able to do 15 minutes on it! Great job!
Most of us have a Love/Hate relationship with that machine....I hate doing it..I love how many calories I burn, and I LOVE watching the sweat drip off my elbows!
