Today, one of the two sleds had the weights increased from 44 pounds to 66 pounds. I got to workout using the sled with the 66 pounds. We had to push the sled from one end of the matted workout area to the opposite end, then switch off to the next person in line, unless Rick called "Fire Drill". That meant whoever was pushing the sled had to push the sled from one end to the opposite end, then back again before we switched off to the next person. I enjoyed doing this and was able to keep running
while pushing the sled, even when Rick called "Fire Drill" on me.
Then our group in the sled area had to switch with EJ's group in the basketball court area. EJ had us work with resistance bands. We had to step both feet into a band and pull it up to the ankles. We first did 15 squats with our legs at shoulder width apart maintaining tension with the resistance band. We did our sideways squat walk with the bands around our ankles while walking half the court. Boy could I feel it in my lower tushie!! Then we did the sideways squat walk back. Great workout!! We also walked backwards by stepping back with one leg at a 45 degree angle, while maintaining tension when bringing the other leg back towards it. Then alternating legs with each 45 degree angle step to the halfway point of the basketball court. The resistance band definitely adds another dimension to our workout. It was great!!
They are pushing us more in the training sessions because we are ready. You have come so far Toni. You definitely are taking full advantage of this program.
