Wait, carbs aren't the enemy?

Monday night's nutrition class was so interesting to me.  I feel like I have been in a "diet" mentality for so long.  In the past, I had tried low carb diets and they worked for awhile.  I lost weight and I lost it fast.  But it was never a lifestyle I could maintain and eventually, I just reverted back to my old ways.  I never felt good or energetic while doing those diets.  Mostly, I felt tired and grumpy.  Now, we are learning more of a lifestyle change and how important every food group is for our bodies.  And this time around, I am losing weight and I actually feel good doing it.  Who knew?  I just think it is just going to be a great learning process and I hope that this is something I can continue on for the rest of my life in a healthy and balanced way.

I did "diets" and then reverted lots of times too. Its amazing how different this program is with common sense and good nutritional teaching! You absolutely can continue this healthy lifestyle!

  2. That is why the nutritionists are such an important part of the program. Lifestyle means living smart. We need to understand what our body needs and how to get it properly. Glad you are readjusting your thinking with the new knowledge you are receiving.
