St. Patrick's County Park-Manion Cabin
This weekend my family stayed in the Manion Cabin at St Patrick's County Park in South Bend with friends from high school. It was great catching up with old friends, but I think the highlight of the weekend was the hike Brad & I went on Saturday morning. The scheduled called for 4.5 miles. I ask Brad if he wanted to join me and he did. Saturday was also our 17th wedding anniversary. It was beautiful and as we walked I thought about all the other places we have spent anniversary weekends over the years. We may have stopped for some pics along the way, but we never really went out and actually enjoyed a nice long walk together. I know that if it was not for BMSW2 this year would have been no different. I was so thankful for the opportunity to enjoy nature together. I think we will be doing a lot more of that over the next 17 years,

Congratulations on your anniversary! And getting your miles in while away!
ReplyDeleteI never used to walk with Frank before the program...
Now we usually walk together on Sunday mornings! I love it, we're unplugged, just able to really talk and communicate and invest our time in each other!
These walks are just one of the reasons I am so thankful to the program!
(I know I just freaked you out.....YEP Frank Murphy, The Marathon Man, takes walks!)
Little known secret (well, not really) ... I walk ... a lot.
ReplyDeleteI have averaged about 180 miles per month for the last year, and of that, an average of 30 miles is walking. That means about 15% of my total miles comes from walking. I find it's really helpful the day after a really strenuous run to take a walk. It speeds my recovery and allows me to enjoy many of my miles with my wife. It's a win-win-win-win-win-win-win situation!
AWWWWW!!
DeleteBoth your comments made me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is something that can help your success continue into the future. As you find things you can do with other and you both enjoy it you will find encouragement to keep it up. That is especially great when it is with the one you love. Not only do you continue your exercise but you also spend time with your love and build special memories.
