It's nearing the end of week three...biggest challenges so far.
1. Not stepping on the scale except for the official weigh in.
2. Not stopping at McDonalds to get a large Dt. Dr. Pepper.
3. Preplanning meals and carrying out that plan.
The results on the scale and in the fit of my clothes prove that the additional work is worth it and why I didn't lose weight before.  We are getting to that 21 day standard where things start becoming a habit. I am hoping that these good habits become so instilled that at the end of the 12 weeks that it is automatic. I can feel my body getting stronger and when I walk I feel like I'm walking straighter and a little bit faster. The 10K seems ominous. I have done a 5K before and that seemed hard at the time. As Rick said in the beginning, "Trust us." I do. I'm finding that I can do more than I thought. I can take control of my food and exercise. I can do this.

It will become a habit. And will take your will and drive still, to continue strong!
ReplyDeleteRick and Tina always say, you are stronger than you think you are!
Talk to BSWS1 and Season 8 alums and how they did for their 10k and half. I think your ominous feeling will be dissuaded. You are fighting hard for your new way of life! You got this!
Tina one thing to watch out for is the feeling that you can relax after the program is over. When the 12 weeks is over you then need to realize that you are just moving into a new phase. If you decide you can take a break than you might start falling back. That is why FWSW is offering things like workouts and accountable weigh-ins for the alumni and when you finish the program you can take advantage of those as well. The next thing after that to realize that getting yourself to your goal weight doesn't mean you can now relax. Maintaining to me sometimes is harder than when I was losing the weight. It takes work but it is worth it.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the 10K. You will be surprised by what you can do. A year ago I couldn't run 1/3 of mile straight but by the time Fort4Fitness came I was able to run the entire 10K. I just took each week a week at a time. Even now as I am training for my second 1/2 marathon I am finding the same thing. Just did 7 miles today, didn't feel like I would make it half way through but just kept putting one foot ahead of the other and finished the 7 miles running. You did good with your approach to your first mile and I know you will be able to complete the 10K with style.
